Not Quite Normal - Films, Taiko, Future Plans

Been watching a lot of films once again, finishing off our Blockbuster stash.

'They' was an entertaining enough horror movie .. but they forgot to end it.
Seriously, just as the climax kicks in the damn thing ends! Couldn't believe it!

'Shanghai Knights' was pretty good considering we hadn't seen the first one, Jackie Chan is always good to watch though of course. Plot was paper thin, historical context way, way out the window but yeah, enjoyable as a piece of fluff.

Wednesday we (I'm just going to start saying 'we' from now on, you know by now it's always Jen and I :P) went to go see 'The Skeleton Key' (god bless you 'Two for One Wednesdays').
Decided to get Pizza Hut for dinner first, they've updated their menus with a few new items which were nice to try. But they were quite late getting our food to us so it took a little speed snacking to get it eaten all in time to rush off to the movie.

Large queues there as 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' had just opened and people were crowding for it.
It was seeming like we'd be the only ones going for a different movie but it still ended up with quite a few people in there also.

The film is billed as a horror but really the horror parts are pretty un-necessary. The plot was interesting and kept your attention but if anything all the shocks and tensiony parts weren't really required.

Last night Louise was back in town for a few days so popped over after I picked Jen up.
After a Taiko smashing session we headed to tescos to get Jen some food and stock up on sweets and Yop as usual. Finished things off with more Taiko and giggling at the Rez vibrator device lol

Jen and I were talking about taking a few days off together later on in the year to go do something fun, a quasi-holiday type thing and figured that while we were down in London for the Expo in October, we could take a few extra days off and spend some more time down there as I don't think Jen has done much sightseeingy stuff when we've been there before as we usually just head to Chinatown and the arcades.
This time though we can do things like going on the Wheel and touring a few other places (with a healthy mix in of Chinatown and arcades anyway of course ;P).

We proposed it to Louise last night and she was happy to have us stay the extra days at her place (as we'll be staying there for the expo weekend also) which is great so now we just have to confirm the holiday days at work and we'll be all sorted :)

Tonight, weather permitting I think we're heading down to the arcades for a bit, apparently the ITG in Magic City is 'broken' at the moment for whatever reason and in the meantime they've stuck the Extreme discs back in there. We were saying just the other day how nice it'd be to be able to do some Extreme doubles play so now it looks like we're getting the chance, woo!

The weekend should be fuuuun, this is my last one also before heading to America!
Mana test dressing I think will be done on Sunday, seems the best day for it anyways.
Saturday, anime as usual in the morning, not sure about the afternoon and then off to dinner and watching 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' with Rach and Luke in the evening (eating somewhere that can get our food to us at a half decent time ;P).
Jen is also staying over tonight and Saturday night, wahoo! XD
(Although our chances at getting to the anime club on time, which were never good in the first place are now through the floor lol)

Hummm, that's about it I guess. Will be glad to get this week over with .. been stressful at work for some reason that I can't quite put my finger on .. I think I'm just overdue for this holiday lol

Oh just ordered the recently back in stock 5 book Harry Potter set from Amazon just now. 4 day despatch time with fastest shipping available .. just gotta hope it gets here in time now /o_o\
